    I worked at Capital One full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Good pay and benefits. Capital One encourages volunteering and giving back to the community. They also do a lot of team building activities.

    Cons

    Customers calling the claims center are generally upset due to dealing with unauthorized account transactions and take out their frustrations on the employee. There's not much you can do for them except file a claim. Also, management denies pretty much every request for time off. Requests for time off on a Saturday are automatically denied and they make you jump through hoops to have a manager override it. It's also difficult...

    -benefits from day 1 -a lot of pto after 90 days -many opportunities to advance after putting in 9 mo -nice campuses and events -helpful coworkers and supervisors -the training was fun

    -the METRICS! By far it is the most unfair and outdated measurement of performance. NPS does not accurately measure either. Someone can rate you a 1 star on accident and throw off your entire nps avg. Your metrics define you here. This is how they rank you against your peers.     A lot of your employees are very unhappy about the performance reviews and metrics. Listen to your people. It is outdated. If you say you’re all about innovation and progress, why not update the #1 issue that is making your employees VERY unhappy and stressed? People speak up about it all the time on campus.     Pay , PTO.

    Cons

    They pretend to be a family atmosphere . But there are a lot of snakes. They are Afraid to do what's right. There is no I mean no support. If your not apart of the circle you will never win. I work at the Chesapeake va location.

    Be a fair and Approachable manager. Realize you are the boss and not everyone's friend.
