I worked at Capital One full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits. Good people. Flexible work environment.

    Cons

Open concept workspace is better in concept than reality. Hard to focus when someone is on the phone 3 feet away from you. BIG Disconnect between executive vision and deliverables. Inconsistencies in messaging Performance ranking “calibrations” are painful processes and pit teammates against one another. Middle management either micro manages or is entirely disengaged. No in between. The public persona of the company (culture) is not consistent across the organization. No rhyme or reason to leveling or layoffs.
