    Pros

Pay Hours Paid time off Families you work with

    Cons

Management They will not train you properly, and just expect you to know everything. My direct supervisor was verbally abusive, and a BULLY every day to me, to the point where I was having panic attacks in the bathroom daily. (I have never had any panic attacks before this job) I ultimately has to leave for my own mental health. Shortly after a co worker spoke up, and the supervisor was investigated and FIRED. Because they found all the allegations to be true, but they refused to let me come back to my position, despite me being a good employee and dealing with the verbal abuse. They will also pawn you off as a "therapist" even though you have a bachelors, and no training to be a therapist. They expect you to know how to conduct therapy, without the proper education/ training/certification.

I worked at Cayuga Centers full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The only benefit is working with unaccompanied children and developing a newfound knowledge and relationship with them. They are so undeserving of the poor treatment and management of this company. The children should be the only focus and be a priority over office politics and drama.

    Cons

The compensation is very low in comparison to the City pay for teachers and the professional development opportunities offered. The staff turn-over is ridiculous which explains the easy process and the expediency to hire quickly. The fact that most of my collegeaus are unqualified and have questionable backgrounds is ludicrous. The experience of this place is valuable but not for longterm employment. You will not advance as an educator because this place is not even recognized by the state as an agency for teachers to advance their certification. You won't be appreciated or valued for the work or resources you provide. The micromanaging and fear based mentality is so toxic.

I worked at Cayuga Centers full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Working with undocumented children and reuniting them with families

    Cons

The leadership is unqualified and not empathetic to its staff. They are rude, petty, catty and its like a high school musical everyday. The pay does not compensate you for the headaches and unprofessionalism. The high turn-over rate reflects the poor leadership and direction of the program. You are recyclable and replaceable. They micromanage you and will have you compete with each other versus collaborate and share ideas. This is a good stepping stone but not good for longterm advancement. This place is poorly viewed among other jobs in the field and joked about. There are other stable work environments available. The naive and stupid may apply.
