I worked at Central Transport full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fairly easy a lot of down time to sleep and push brooms.

    Cons

Micromanaged. People seemingly let go randomly, not based on production or anything that makes sense. No advancement managed from corporate without any inquiry about employee concerns or suggestions. Very hard to move freight efficiently

    Advice to Management

Depending on position. Leads should look for a different job. Terminal managers and regional managers need to grow a backbone and take a stance for workers. Do you want to be that much of a yesman?

I have been working at Central Transport part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly Environment with employees. Good facilities. This kind of job are only meant to survivor not for great opportunities. Allowing to listen music at work place.

    Cons

Unhealthy Competition, Lot of targets, in case there is no bill in system that will affect your production, Less bus Frequency specially at night. No stores or food places close to company location.

    Advice to Management

If there is no bills in the system. Do not consider in production chart. That will demotivate your employee. Every person has unique quality so please do not compare with your other employees. Give them tasks according to their quality. For Eg. If someone is good at fast production allot them with that, and if someone is good at quality production allot them with that. Keep your employees happy, they will do work what...

I have been working at Central Transport full-time

    Pros

No one bothers you if you keep your head down and do the job. Decent pay with nice bonus paid out over some years. Referral bonus for city is decent, better for line haul, again paid out over time. Trucks are in decent shape. Anything goes wrong, mechanics are there to fix, most problems. Never had an issue with a pay check. Some trailers are new, most in decent shape. You get a consistent raise for the first few years...

    Cons

No direct deposit. Major financial issues from time wasted throughout the year due to outdated hand held issues, and bugs ie; re-signing into certain menus to dispatch multiple times per trip, screen loading times, freezes and reboots, time spent on hold for tech support etc. Long hold times for dispatch, especially on weekends 25 min+. Weekend work when available is not smooth at all. Again wait times on the phone to...

    Advice to Management

Ease up on the terminal managers and, "quality control visits". I understand standards have to be maintained, but no matter how much you whip a running horse it wont go any faster. Get new handhelds. It's cheaper then losing money through loss of productivity and idleness. Also the government mandated switch to ELD was in 2018. Try explaining to law enforcement why you can't send them the logs through bluetooth. Minimize...

I worked at Central Transport full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Many people in other buildings were friendly. Very little time answering phones. Not too many conference calls.

    Cons

Chaotic structure. Exceptionally high turnover rate for management and drivers. People are recruited without any expectations of job stability. Safety is an afterthought.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Learn to care about people.
