I have been working at CertainTeed full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Flexible work schedule -company car and expense account -good benefits -opportunities to move between different divisions -good mix of products to offer -moderate overnight travel given large territory sizes

    Cons

-poor training (both at the start of job and ongoing) -upper management does not seem to care enough about the team they manage -HUGE corporate mentality (AKA- tons of -too much European influence which does not really mesh well with US demands -huge disconnect b/t sales and production facilities -slow to react to changes in industry allowing competition to constantly get ahead -new "innovative" products are forced down the pipe and usually are unfitting for consumer demand -must seek MULTIPLE approvals before making ANY moves in pricing which always seems to have a negative consequence -customer service and satisfaction is far from being a top priority to this company which greatly impacts sales team as well as the customers' perception of the company in a very negative way

I worked at CertainTeed full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

compensation/benefits were at the top of the industry.

    Cons

Company is getting caught up in cutting cost to the most valuable asset, their people. Also, too many compliance reports to file, not enough time for raw selling.

    Territory Manager
    Disapproves of CEO

    I worked at CertainTeed

    Pros

Good technical support that allows you to be able to work from home and or hotels. Great essential resources when it comes to the wide variety of products under the CertainTeed umbrella.

    Cons

They are a good old boys club. Middle management does not promote employee growth. Lack of communication from the top down to the field is extremely poor. They are not the leader in the industry that they once were and they can't seem to move past that and into the here and now.

    Disapproves of CEO

    I worked at CertainTeed

    Pros

With variety of departments to work in due to the large product pool.

    Cons

Too much politics being played. If your not in the inner circle your not being looked at to advance. Communnication is not done with top management to lower departments. Some depts are cut so thin the resources aren't there to support sales.
