I worked at CertainTeed full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I wish there was one to share, but sadly enough their is none.

    Cons

Long hours, to take time off like a weekend you have to use your vacation. Verbal abuse by managers, lies, mismanagement and having blame placed on you even though you were never trained for that task.

    Advice to Management

Stop working in the 80's and modernize

I worked at CertainTeed full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great building and location in the suburbs. Modern workspace and lots of areas for breakouts, meetings, etc. People are genuinely nice and good to work with. Modern amenities onsite including high end cafeteria, employee activities like WW/Gym, and coffee bar. Excellent benefits available to F/T including 401k/Company Pension.

    Cons

Lots of politics involved with every decision made. Takes a tremendous amount of time & velocity to make decisions, and after they happen, expect to have them done with little to no planning and timing. Good employees work long hours to cover for other employees who have limited purpose/scope. Many contractors fill vital roles that should be staffed with F/T professionals.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people doing the work, not the managers who don't see that day to day. Rely on technical professionals with experience to drive best practices, and spend wisely, instead of just to 'fix' a short term problem.

I have been working at CertainTeed

    Pros

Benefits are pretty good and the pay is above average I think. Some of the people are friendly and very helpful.

    Cons

Long hours, a lot of dust in the building, the roof leaks and when it rains we have to try to get the water off the floor.

    Advice to Management

They need to communicate more with the employees, and show some respect for us and our feelings. They need to follow through with things that they start and don't forget about them, except for when the big bosses come for a visit.
