I worked at CertainTeed full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Great Employees Great Benefits

    Cons

Micro Management Upper Management looked the same Development plans are more geared towards Millennials or Favorites

    Advice to Management

Values no longer aligned with practices. Corporate/local plants preached diversity and inclusion however the faces in Executive positions and Upper Management says different! The culture has turned more of Dictatorship where individual voices is no longer appreciated but condemned. Local Management didn’t respect worklife balance as you were continuously being contacted via phone.

I worked at CertainTeed full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Lots of opportunity, great people to work with, good roofing and siding divisions. Nice benefits

    Cons

no loyalty by many in upper management, questionable emphasis for hiring based on race and gender and not on qualifications, pay is average to below average compared to industry. These are my opinions only based off of only my experiences.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and dont just say you value your employees, actually show it and practice it.

    I worked at CertainTeed

    Pros

Great benefits, certain divisions treat sales really well.

    Cons

Upper management had no experience in specific division, made bonuses really hard to reach after you set your baseline.

    Advice to Management

Let the reps work, things you learn in seminars don't necessarily translate well to this type of industry.

I have been working at CertainTeed full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Flexible work schedule -company car and expense account -good benefits -opportunities to move between different divisions -good mix of products to offer -moderate overnight travel given large territory sizes

    Cons

-poor training (both at the start of job and ongoing) -upper management does not seem to care enough about the team they manage -HUGE corporate mentality (AKA- tons of -too much European influence which does not really mesh well with US demands -huge disconnect b/t sales and production facilities -slow to react to changes in industry allowing competition to constantly get ahead -new "innovative" products are forced down the pipe and usually are unfitting for consumer demand -must seek MULTIPLE approvals before making ANY moves in pricing which always seems to have a negative consequence -customer service and satisfaction is far from being a top priority to this company which greatly impacts sales team as well as the customers' perception of the company in a very negative way

    Advice to Management

-take a minute to think about what your sales team ACTUALLY has to deal with on a day-to-day basis -LISTEN to your sales people and actually take into account what they are telling you -BE MORE TRANSPARENT, constantly keeping your sales team in the dark leads to a serious distrust from your subordinates

No work life balance

    Advice to Management

Don't micro manage employees, better work life balance shutdown for extended periods of time to perform Maintenance.
