I have been working at Charles River Laboratories full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    There are always positions open

    Cons

Training is abhorrent or nonexistent. Structure and organization is minimal. Most of the regulations and the training program in general seems like it is just for show.

I worked at Charles River Laboratories full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits are good. If you work with a good group of people it can really change your experience.

    Cons

Management is not very helpful. People are constantly hired and quit after a year or two. Hard work can go unnoticed. Typical corporate environment.

I have been working at Charles River Laboratories full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The pay is decent, the benefits are good, and the community of people I work with makes coming to work (remote since COVID) a real joy.

    Cons

Constantly changing systems, nothing works as it should, it can be stressful to keep on top of workload when nothing stays constant for more than 6 months. It can feel like climbing a mountain made of sand at times.

I have been working at Charles River Laboratories full-time

    Pros

Semi-flexible schedule, able to make decent money with overtime, actual coworkers (not supervisors or management) are great to work with

    Cons

Management seems to pride itself on favoritism. If you are not on the manager's good side (for the lab), she will do anything and everything to make your life hell. Management refuses to actually communicate with people, often doing shady job deals and promoting people (or changing employee evals to make her favorites look better) that have poor work ethic. Management is vindictive, petty and does very little to actually promote good people, keep quality employees and makes sure you know that you are always expendable. There are a handful of technicians that have been there 4+ years, all the rest are less than 2 years (there are over 40 technicians). Just waiting for the moment it blows up and she is seen for the horrible, selfish boss she is.
