I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great PTO, work-life balance, but that was when they were owned by RBS, so I've heard that's not the same anymore

    Cons

High sales pressure and not all management were qualified for their roles, which was overlooked if they produced results, regardless of the way they treated their employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep working on developing your managers into the type off people you would want your kids to work for. Don't forget that if you treat others well, and offer mentoring and opportunities, they will be loyal to you.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Ability to get bonuses

    Cons

Management was too concerned with being friends with some staff which resulted in unfair treatment to others. Long hours. Unreasonable manager.

    Advice to Management

Don't allow branch managers to hang out with staff in the same branch regularly. The favoritism was unreal! Leave pettiness outside the work place.

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Bonus structure is okay, team members are great

    Cons

Very immature environment, seems like staff are always calling HR on each other, very little uniformity between business lines, penalized for being on maternity leave

    Advice to Management

Need better training, more uniformity among business lines, need to loosen the reigns on underwriting.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get a lot of paid vacation and good insurance.

    Cons

Company has awful upper management. As long as you get 250% of your goal you can pretty much do unethical things and they don't care. They move out good managers with bad ones

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay was decent coming out of college

    Cons

Terrible sales design structure. No external marketing to support company promotional offers. Insane sales expectations - little attention paid to anything aside from sales targets and HOURLY conference calls discussing results. Horrible sales staff - mostly under-qualified and overpaid. Little knowledge of the banking services or products that company provides.

    Advice to Management

Hire competent Regional Managers that will assist Branch Managers in the creation and implementation of sales strategies which may actually work.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Training is straight forward. Plenty of work with some down time. Laid bake branches.

    Cons

Not always foot traffic, have to find things to do. See the same customers over and over again.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    solid hourly pay good benefits

    Cons

the amount of pressure to produce new checking accounts as a platform person is beyond real! I witnessed many coworkers suffer stress related illnesses just to have them be laid off when they returned. I have witnessed the few that do well lie and cheat customers to get them to open new accounts they had no need for.

    Advice to Management

If you want to keep your customer base work more on customer service and less on abusing customers to get new checking accounts. Back off on your employee pressures & performance expectations.

I have been working at Citizens Bank

    Pros

Flexible schedule, lots of training available to grow career, everything you do is tracked ( sales ) which gives you a reference as to where you stand amongst your peers. Large company with many different employment opportunities prove yourself and you will be moved up the ladder.

    Cons

There are a lot of distractions that clutter your day such as useless reports and conference calls. Big disconnect from upper management and branch staff, too much why aren't you and not enough tell us what we can do to help you. Direction changes with management, this will change the way you operate, leading to poor results.

    Advice to Management

Pick a plan and stick with it, when results are the best they have been DONT change it. Be the first bank in town to add a product or service not the last. Quit with the busy work, useless emails, conference calls that nobody pays attention to, and contests. This is a bank everyone knows what there job is.
