I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for less than a year

    Pros

When fully staffed the hours can be very flexible. Open seven days a week at in store locations. Time and a half on Sundays. All major holidays are paid. Offer lots of PTO

    Cons

Working at an in store location the hours can be long. It did not help that our location also became understaffed. The system that is used is very outdated and slow. Everything ins done electronics and on paper so it's always double the work. The company offers very slow growth

I worked at Citizens Bank for more than a year

    Pros

Coworkers are good, hours are ok, benefits are meehh as long as your hitting your goal. If you don't have any experience training is really great.

    Cons

I had been working for citizens bank for over a year. Before I left I've never experienced such a stressful job. Since they rolled out check in forms, outbound calling scripts, banker summary and teller promt tools it had been a stressful environment. If you are not in the teller line, you should be calling customers, you must produce 9 check in forms and 30 phone calls with 3-5 bloc appointments. Goals are too high to reach and it is always good to remember location location location...why? Because if your location is not busy how do you expect to get any sales..You can have a huge sale or big revenue but if you don't hit your NEW TO CHECKING acct. you dont get anything...and by NEW as in they never had a citizens checking acct. And how many people comes in to open a bank acct. Do you think? And it's not just you who wants to get that sales. Everytime a customer comes in to open a new acct. were like wolves whose ready to eat the customer and shove him/her all the products we have to offer.....ohh and if your branch is 1 or 2 star level for customer satisfaction you get 20-30% deduction from your bonus. Always short staffed because alot of new hires couldn't handle the sale competition and sales goal. Ohh I forgot every customer everytime had to offer them every product you can think of. Good luck..

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You get a paycheck every week. It's indoors, and sometimes the heat/AC works. You get to test the limits of your sanity.

    Cons

The goals are unattainable, upper management (regional managers and above) are complete clowns with absolutely no idea what happens beneath them, if you're below the regional manager level then you are regarded as less than the bits of scum that accumulate on shower curtains, when you get terminated, they fail to pay you the money you're owed, they change your timesheet on you to avoid paying you what you're owed, YOU WILL NEVER GET A PROMOTION despite everyone in the company fleeing like rats from a sinking ship, and regional managers do not care whether you are good at your job or not, you are basically a wet bag of excrement to them.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

High emphasis on great customer service, support and education. Also, reasonable employee expectations with relatively clear goal expectations and ways to manage those expectations.

    Cons

As a growing company in the process of going public, the company struggled with staffing properly to meet the demands of both work load and customer base.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Out of work at 5pm.

    Cons

Success is punished to no end here, and even if you outsell everyone in your region, they will try to micro manage you into selling the way they want; complete with verbatim scripts and sales notes/check lists that you literally fill out right in front of the customer.

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Let's be serious here. Have you talked to anyone who works at citizens bank and they tell you they don't like it? Well that's because the bank forbids it. I have had the worst experience here at this bank. They treat people like machines and then don't pay you your proper Incentives. They call it a bonus/incentive. If you have a good manager like I did before my transfer then you'll probably love working here.

    Cons

The systems are terribly slow and dated. They claim to spend millions on technologies but employees don't see it. The goals expectations are seriously flawed and the bank does not care about you or its customers it's all about the numbers. They have shrunk down so many departments and it makes stressful to focus on the client in front of you especially if you need help wait times are forever long. They make you call people at dinner time to try to get them to come in for investment or just try to sell you anything to keep upper management from coming down on the managers. They claim to be paperless? I don't know from where? We shred so much wasted paper on "know me and know me more and all this crap the bank doesn't need to be wasting so much then in turn charged customers for statement and delivery. If your a universal banker your basically everything but 100% teller but still have high banker goals. They will have you working your tail off to point that you just leave the company or if they don't like you they will make your life miserable intentionally. I have seen some of the best talent leave our branches because they demand more than they give you in return. The branches now operate on P&L everyone is expected to have knowledge on this to fully understand how to truly operate this way. Not all employees understand how this works and it's not there fault, when your employer doesn't give you tools to grow an understand you fail! This company does not offer any job security at all! Constantly on edge and always feeling stressed.
