I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time for more than 10 years

      Pros

PTO Paternity leave 401k Co-workers, team On-boarding program Credo recognition program

      Cons

Business line upper management changes are very frequent which leads to no clear set direction or constant change of focus/direction every 18 months to two years. Sales turnover is ridiculously high leaving others to permanently pick up the slack without relief, acknowledgment (much less thanks) or compensation. They conduct a lot of internal surveys but employees don’t feel...

      Advice to Management

Management should consider digging deeper to see what is actually happening at ground level during the annual review/rating process. It’s very demotivating. Too much change is not a good thing. The turnover of sales colleagues and management just brings more instability and worry. Find out why your people are leaving. This is a big deal. Give your managers education in how to manage and support for their role in on-boarding.

        Pros

        No pros. Terrible terrible place

        Cons

Everything. Small time bank trying to make it big. They say they have a philosophy of promoting within however they do not. Each quarter I am a top ranking banker and have applied for a number of positions that I am qualified for and each time I am passed up for someone from an external company. The technology sucks and quite honestly upper management doesn’t give a crap about...

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for more than 3 years

        Pros

They’re always hiring! You'll meet plenty of new people, because in a few months time all of your coworkers will have quit.

        Cons

Micromanaged sales job working in chronically understaffed branches servicing an increasingly (legitimately) frustrated customer base; you will be facing lines going out the door BY YOURSELF. The turnover is unreal and top earners are routinely screwed out of bonuses. Training only focuses on sales, leaving the staff ignorant of how to use the software needed to actually perform their jobs. Every day upper...

          I worked at Citizens Bank

          Pros

People on my team were wonderful, great pto and holidays, benefits are about the same as other banks, 401k match

          Cons

Upper management are micro managers , too many calls and sales are the 1st thing in the mind of everyone at all cost. They pretend to care but at the end of the day all they care about is numbers. Expect to make calls to the same people week after week ( over a hour of calls per day) and the more you take on the more they expect from you with no pay raise to go along with extra...

I have been working at Citizens Bank full-time for less than a year

          Pros

-This place will make you appreciate the NEXT job you get! -18 PTO days for new employees. [Work here, and you'll want to use all of them in your first month (you cant though, you accrue them through the year)]! -Health benefits. -They only match up to 4% of your 401k contibutions, AFTER you have 12 months of employment.

          Cons

***For the 2nd time in 2 weeks, Customers did not get their direct deposits and could not access any online banking resources due to a "computer glitch." When Customers dont have access to their money, what kind of business are you running? The front line employees (myself) are the ones who have to take the beating! Horrible organization to work for and/or do business with.*** -In addition, upper...

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time

            Pros

            Good bank timings

            Cons

Constant changes, senior management doesn't know what they want. They set up processes which they expect employees to follow constantly, or else..... Suddenly it's changed and something else becomes most important. Senior management has no time , intelligence or desire to look at claims made by some employees. Way to get promoted and do well is to talk big about yourself even if its false. Also talk bad about others....

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time for more than a year

            Pros

was able to add experience onto my resume in a area that I have never worked before. but know what you are getting into before you dive in... no training

            Cons

Training was horrible and there were different rules and policy for different people. If you were liked my upper management you could do no wrong, if not watch out. It was great hearing my direct boss say "oh i'm can make there life a living hell"... Oh that's nice... Also Health Benefits are horrible as well.

            Advice to Management

Please take the time to evaluate what the need/role is before hiring someone, just to fill shoes and make sure that you have the capacity to train this person and not set them up to fail.
