Pros

The opportunity to see how a corrupt company runs a business so you know what to look for/avoid in your next role.

Cons

Working for CSS/ Otter/ Cloud Kitchens was an absolute nightmare that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. This review is an urgent warning to all potential employees considering this company: run in the opposite direction and save yourself from a toxic work environment that reeks of deceit, undervaluation, and overexploitation. First and foremost, the company's treatment of its employees is nothing short of disgraceful. It is painfully evident that CSS/ Otter/ Cloud Kitchens not value its workforce in the slightest. From day one, promises of fair compensation and appreciation were nothing but empty words. The salary offered was far below industry standards, leaving employees struggling to make ends meet. It became evident that maximizing profits was the company's sole concern, while employees were viewed as disposable commodities. Furthermore, the overworking culture at CSS/ Otter/ Cloud Kitchens rampant and dehumanizing. Employees are expected to work long hours, sacrificing personal lives and well-being for the sake of the company's bottom line. There is no consideration for work-life balance, and burnout is the norm rather than the exception. Requests for time off or even reasonable breaks are met with disdain and dismissed as signs of weakness. The management's lack of empathy and understanding towards its workforce is abysmal. Perhaps the most disheartening aspect of my time at CSS/ Otter/ Cloud Kitchens the blatant lies about the company culture. During the hiring process, we were fed a rehearsed narrative of a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment. However, upon joining, it became clear that these claims were nothing more than an elaborate facade. Toxic office politics, favoritism, and a complete lack of transparency were the norm. The management's words were hollow, and trust was shattered within days. Communication within the company was atrocious. Important decisions were made behind closed doors, with no input or explanation given to the employees affected. Constructive feedback or suggestions were met with defensiveness or outright hostility. It was evident that dissenting voices were unwelcome and actively suppressed. This kind of environment stifles creativity, innovation, and ultimately any hope for professional growth. In conclusion, I urge job seekers to steer clear ofCSS/ Otter/ Cloud Kitchens . This company's complete disregard for its employees' well-being, underpayment, overworking, and blatant deception regarding its culture are detrimental to anyone's career and personal life. There are far better opportunities available that value their employees, foster growth, and promote a healthy work-life balance. Don't fall for the false promises and toxic environment that CSS/ Otter/ Cloud Kitchens to offer. Your mental and professional well-being deserve so much more. Remember, you deserve to work for a company that truly appreciates and respects its employees, and CSS/ Otter/ Cloud Kitchens the antithesis of that ideal.

Pros

Remote work Learn the tech start up world with little experience beforehand Pay is competitive considering the going rate

Cons

Subject to micromanagement Exhausting quarterly reviews Team leads will gatekeep for inter-company job role applications, especially if you’re “too valuable” Expected to change role description with and without notice, always without pay increases. Expected to double, triple workload on command without title or compensation changes. Stressful job, poor training (mostly self led and through asking questions via Slack, which is not efficient at all.

Toxic leadership team.

Pros

Great co-workers and ability to work on new initiatives.

Cons

The people leadership team is the most junior and ineffective group of people that I have ever witnessed. They hire talented subject matter experts, but disagree with their recommendations, and instead chose to do the tactical work themselves. This leaves no Sr. leadership level person to actually set a strategy, and they work on the same initiatives over and over, year after year with limited results. This same leadership is extremely toxic, both on their internal team, and their extended team. The amount of gossip and inappropriate information that is spread from the top down is awful, and they seem unaware to the fact that it trickles down to all of the teams and the negative environment that they create.
