I have been working at Classy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Have a career with great impact on the world. This job actually helps people make a real difference. I come from the nonprofit space and it's easy to have big goals to change the world, but so difficult to create tangible action steps to get there. Classy helps these nonprofits harness their fundraising potential and see real results! -Amazing company culture- as they have grown, it's clear they have not lost... sight of their culture, which is so rare to achieve! -Always open to new ideas and striving to be better -Truly show that they value their employees

    Cons

-Must be flexible with change. Not really a con, but if you aren't comfortable with change, I wouldn't recommend working here

I have been working at Classy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Company culture - I love coming to work every day! I feel challenged by my peers and leadership, and also feel a great sense of ownership and autonomy. There are definitely ways to contribute beyond what my job title entails.

    Cons

Processes are still being implemented and developed to accommodate our growth

    Advice to Management

Check in with your newer employees :) Keep the Classy Family spirit alive as we continue to grow!

I have been working at Classy

    Pros

It really comes down to feeling good about where you work and what you do. Classy is an organization that helps nonprofits fundraise online, and having been here for 3 moths now, I know better than ever that nonprofits really need the help. It's cool helping clients each day chip away at the world's biggest problems. Even better doing that alongside people who are smart, dedicated, and a pleasure to be around. My... Account Management team is outstanding. Other perks: Laid-back culture, commuting benefits, 401K, fun company outings (and innings), a spectacular office setting, and a solid executive team that believes in transparency, among much else.

    Cons

401K match would be nice. Beyond that, my complaints are few and far between. True of any software company, scaling an org successfully means a few growing pains. Product is coming along, but presents some buggy challenges every so often. Client load is heavy, but far from unbearable, and new hires have helped to offset some of that challenge. Standing desks would help from an ergonomic standpoint.

    Advice to Management

Focus on having an amazing product and delighting customers, and the rest will fall into place. Sales will increasingly come from referrals. Marketing will have a wealth of favorable testimonials to draw from. Account Management will service happier customers (and get more upgrades from them).

I worked at Classy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - The people supporting the company area really great, hard working, enthusiastic and energized - Located in the heart of downtown San Diego. - Knowing you're involved with organization who are impacting good in the world one way or another.

    Cons

    - The work environment was really loud at times which made the job difficult, sometimes it was impossible to assist customers with the attention they required. - While the company across the board is about 50/50: male/female with very progressive traits, it is not diverse in ethnicity and culture. In my situation my team is comprised of 8 females and 1male and a only 2 minorities. - Management fell short in... nurturing personal and professional development - Company developments/strategy for AM team were not executed in a way that was smooth and on several occasions shifted without notice. - Path for promotion was vague and inconsistent, really dishearten to learn other team members with same goals but were compensated double than I was yet we performed equally. - Benefits could be better, no 401K matching. - Core values of the company appear to only apply to the supporting staff and some of the lower rungs of middle management. Upper management and Executives did not exercise or lead with those same values.

    Advice to Management

    - Define clearly the promotional process in clear and concise terms and regular feedback, the current leadership matrix is not a recipe for success because it is applied inconsistently. - Celebrate cultural diversity and open your doors to more minorities - Introduce practices and programs that will continually motivate staff.

    Classy Response

    January 25, 2017

Thank you for taking the time to review Classy and provide feedback to management. Admittedly, 2016 was a year of intense growth and change for Classy and we more than doubled our employee size, which included hiring many new people on the Account Management team. We navigated ...
