Interview process is a bit slow.
A few facilities for India employees.

    Advice to Management

For India employees, provide the accommodation at the time of joining. Start office in a few more locations in India like Bangalore.

Over communicate (whenever possible) with employees on changes and their impacts to the business and individuals.

I have been working at Cloudera full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing executive leadership; good benefits; solid solutions that customers want; good strategy moving forward

    Cons

First line leadership; momentum of 'big data'; transition to cloud slower than it should be.

    Advice to Management

Leadership from the CEO down has been great, but the first line managers are lost and ineffective. Running their 'teams' as a salesperson would not a leader. Keep a close eye on your first line managers, they are not towing the line for the company direction and overall ineffective as leaders.

I have been working at Cloudera full-time

    Pros

    Polite employees.
    Great work life balance.
    Flexible work schedule.
    Transparent leaders.

    Cons

Infighting between and within departments make it a toxic environment.
Middle management has little leadership experience.
Passive aggressive people who want to undermine you at every turn.

    Advice to Management

Pretty much all decisions are made by upper management. You won't scale without good processes in place.

I have been working at Cloudera full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Generally good, smart people work here, senior leaders are strong with a good vision, free lunch and barista at HQ, still small enough to make a noticeable impact, flexible schedule with WFH option

    Cons

not much room for career/salary growth which leads to attrition, process/system improvements are underfunded and under staffed, work/life balance and "do more for less" pressure is often an issue

I worked at Cloudera full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None whatsoever! just adding stuff here to get this through

    Cons

Very incompetent low level management creates a toxic environment for employees, they have good work to be done but the good people won't hang around for long in an environment that fosters lone wolves instead of team work. Benefits can't compete with larger employers, the promise of profitability slides deeper and deeper into the future and so does your economic rewards if any.

Instead of working on making the company more appealing the company patrols reviews in glassdoor trying to weed out negative reviews: may be that talent will be best used building some new feature into the products or providing better service to customers?

    Advice to Management

Fire all the incompetent managers that get negative reviews and hire experienced managers that can keep talent in house.
