    Pros

    Strong leadership and proven executives. Made a great strategic move to merge/acquire Hortonworks. Culture is strong, servant leadership that wants their people to be successful, rewarding compensation and options for those who are committed and delivering results. Enterprise platform and not silo solution.

    Cons

    Lets use our war-chest of money to accelerate and disrupt the market once again. Very bullish on the future of Cloudera.

    Get aggressive with investments

    Pros

    It is a company where lot of innovation happens
    It is a company with full of great people like Doug Cutting, Yonik, Tom White etc...
    It offers career growth for every individual.
    It is a pioneer in the Hadoop Distribution (CDH)
    It contributes lot of projects to the open source world.
    It is best company for every engineer.

    Cons

    Interview process is a bit slow.
    A few facilities for India employees.

    Advice to Management

    For India employees, provide the accommodation at the time of joining. Start office in a few more locations in India like Bangalore.

    Great benefits and vacation policy.

    Cons

    Teams are very separated don't work smoothly together. Conflict isn't easily rectified.

    Pros

    Cloudera has a very transparent open company culture. Mgmt will answer tough questions during all hands etc..
    Very supportive people with open feedback.
    Still a strong engineering culture with focus on customer delivery. A company that is working closely with a lot of top 500 brandnames.
    Very broad analytics portfolio, strengthened by Hortonworks merger.
    Great perks, free lunch, vacation, 401K, good health benefits.

    Cons

    Playing some catchup in some technology areas, but that reality has sunk in.

    Advice to Management

    Focus effort on technology strength and open source community contributions.

    Pros

    Smart people in marketing and good branding. Many strong speakers like the CMO, Chief Data Officer and Industry leaders. Some teams are well resourced and put on great events or have cool sponsorships.

    Cons

    Marketing isn't unified and the way budget is distributed isn't optimal. We never had a marketing all-hands this year and because of that it feed disjointed sometimes. Couple that with a LOT of turnover around merger uncertainty and we are stalled in many areas.

    Advice to Management

    Treat strong employees well through the merger because many are getting multiple offers from other tech firms. Promote people and give them a career path. Bring together the new marketing org as soon as possible and collaborate/set direction/unify.

    Pros

    - Good place if you want to spend time working on diverse set of tools.
    - Good customer base (keeping cloudera still in the market)

    Cons

    - Poor leadership visibility and direction to their teams.
    - Product strategy is messed up. No stable or successful product recently. Only surviving with Cloudera Manager.
    - Internal teams(Professional services, Engineering, Sales, Support) are not aligned to drive towards common goals.

    Advice to Management

    - Customers are always first for the company. But for leadership employees should be first. Helping individuals to build a successful profile will have a direct influence on the business and customers. Hear the feedback from employees to keep the best talent, it automatically drives the business towards success.
