Decent Wages, Poor Management

CGL provides relatively higher wages than other contract security companies. The job positions are also better quality, more interesting, and you're fairly paid for the amount of work that you do.
Cons
Senior management is horrible. There have been multiple incidents of gender discrimination, and harassment. The HR complaint process is convoluted and inefficient, and they'd rather protect management than their on-the-ground employees

Good company with good leaders and structure
28 Oct 2020 - Commissionaire in Calgary, ABRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You are more than just a number that is replaceable, and understand by treating the employee right the employee treats the client right. Access to employee assistance programs which helped me when I needed it. Benefits, Open door policy with the upper management, in house training for CPR. Excellent potential to advance a career in law enforcement, many varieties of postings you dont usually get from your typical security company being largely comprised of current and ex military members and a long history.
Cons
Poor communication at times, recently went to a different pay system instead of per hour it depends what site you work what you get paid. Poor fleet management/maintenance to the point of making myself and other drivers feel unsafe to drive certain vehicles No performance reviews/raises
