I worked at CooperVision full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company is growing and catching up to it's competition. Innovative changes and automation is helping keep up with the times. Process control engineers, systems support , IT and maintenance are good departments to be in for this. Great Wellness program. Very diverse workforce.

    Cons

Pay is low for average worker. When a position is eliminated, remaining personnel are expected to do more and more. Favoritism in hiring is frequent. Development of employees has been almost phased out.

    Advice to Management

Allow for development at all levels of Leadership. Crosstrain employees before their position is eliminated so they can contribute in another area.

I worked at CooperVision full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The team environment was very strong, leadership had vision of where the company wanted to go, and willing to train people to get there. The rebranding with having employees be brand ambassadors made everyone feel like part of the goal.

    Cons

As with all companies, there are some employees that have been promoted in the past need to be weeded out. Instead of hiring outside the company they promoted employees that really didn’t have the skill set for the job they perform.

    Advice to Management

Force management to continually train themselves with outside seminars and courses.

I have been working at CooperVision full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A culture and a team that at all levels is committed to establishing the organization as the premier contact lens manufacturer and distributor in the industry. This organization actively works to recognize and appreciate the fact that the investment and innovation of their employees offers the organization a truly proprietary advantage over the competition.

    Cons

The DC environment is one of constant change which requires a high level of consideration for employees as well as clear and consistent communication from leadership that at times is lost to urgency and focus on end results. Improvement here may support improved adoption of change, broader support and an overall more engaged, capable and enabled work force .
