I worked at Cotswold Outdoor part-time for less than a year
Pros
Keen outdoor enthusiast so I joined as a weekend job. The staff there were fantastic, lots of like-minded individuals who were passionate about the outdoors and knowledgeable about the products we sold. Great training, kit demos. Good staff discount (trade price, roughly 40% off selected kit).
Cons
It is clearly important for a shop to make sales, but often felt that we were encouraged to upsell kit to members of the public who may not have required expensive kit. Shaming policy for staff with poor loyalty card signup conversion, despite this being an irritating process for the customer and to the detriment of customer service as a whole.
Pros
The staff discount on products is good
Cons
The hours don't tend to be set
Pros
Cool outdoor kit, lovely team, opportunities for travel
Cons
The fact that it’s retail
Thanks for taking the time to give us a great review! :-)
