I have been working at Creative Circle for less than a year

    Pros

As the first recruiter I met with moving to a new city, the Creative Circle was so nice and helpful. Within the first month, I had three interviews and landed a freelance gig with one of the largest agencies in the area. So glad I contacted them for help finding a job!

    Cons

Lower hourly rates than finding work on your own, but I wouldn't have landed the job I did without them! Worth it.

I have been working at Creative Circle for less than a year

    Pros

Called back promptly after applying for job

    Cons

I met with a recruiter and she referred me to an internal position within a big corporation. During the meeting, she told me my internship experience didn't count as professional experience, and that I was not as qualified or good as other candidates she was referring to the position. Since when is internship experience not a valid professional experience? Anyway, she told me to apply at a lower hourly rate because I wasn't as qualified as other candidates. Initially, a recruiter should never tell you how you "stack up" against other potential candidates. She made me feel really crappy going into the interview process and like I had no shot at this opportunity even though she was referring me.

I worked at Creative Circle for more than 8 years

    Pros

    You got to be kidding...

    Cons

A computerized system that conveniently emails jobs to prospective candidates asking for resumes and bullet points about why said candidate would be a good fit only to never hear from an actual recruiter. If you are a white male over the age of 35 with limited management experience, forget it, you are considered old and incompetent by recruiters. If their recruiters call and you cannot answer, good luck getting back in touch with one. It's sadly a numbers game. The supposed "great opportunities" are never as advertised. Usually gigs that you are way overqualified for and ones that your hourly rate is less than competitor agencies. Gigs that are short-term. Hardly ever Freelance to FT. They also take a larger cut of your hourly rate (sometimes 50% instead of 30%). If you ever work for other agencies and receive better treatment, you more than likely will be blackballed. Their clients usually lack professionalism, are cheap and will not give good references.

    "Not a positive experience"

I worked at Creative Circle for more than 10 years

    Pros

My experience with Creative Circle had no "pros".

    Cons

My experience is with the Atlanta/Peachtree Street location. At the time, I was disillusioned with my full-time, corporate job of many years, and desperately wanted a change. I signed up hoping to get some telecommuting opportunities (I was clear on this point with the "recruiter"; commuting to an office and travel were not options for me, at the time). At my interview, I was told it would not be a problem; they had many people working at home, exclusively. The positions started coming in, and I quickly discovered three things. First, every position required an on-site commitment. Secondly, very few of the positions even remotely matched my skill-set. Third, the hourly rates for the few positions I was qualified for were about what a retail worker (think a Starbucks' barista) with similar years of experience would be paid. I spoke with my CC "recruiter" about my concerns. She pulled a 180 and said finding 100% telecommuting positions was not possible, and claimed to not remember discussing it with me. I knew such positions exist because I had been working that way for years, as had many friends and co-workers. I never did get a single piece of work from this group, and they stopped sending me opportunities after about 6 months, even after I called and left messages to discuss new parameters. I cannot recommend using Creative Circle. After reading the reviews, I see I'm not the only one who had the same experience with lack of suitable positions and ridiculously low hourly rates.

I have been working at Creative Circle for more than a year

    Pros

NOTHING I can say after I realize they cut off 50% from your earning.

    Cons

Just realize they cut off up to 50% the salary from the clients. it is too much greedy. It can be seen that if they offer you a $40 hourly rate, actually, the original price should be around $80. The trash company will destroy the whole marketing and make the designers/Animators/Art Directors cheaper and cheaper. However, the budgets from the clients will be higher and higher. It seems both the Artists and Clients milking these greedy guys.

I worked at Creative Circle for more than 3 years

    Pros

This company has great connections to some of the biggest names in the business. Used to have decent hourly rates.

    Cons

Hourly rates are ridiculously low. Recruiters don't know how to place you and waste your time. There must have been a huge turnover here because everyone recruiting now has no idea how to place anyone and are beyond rude. Don't make people work for free because you don't know how to represent them and take a giant chunk of their hard earned money. Don't go to them. There are other agencies that suck less out there.

I have been working at Creative Circle for more than a year

    Pros

Can't think of any right now.

    Cons

They pretend like they care about your career and want to help, and then you never hear from them again, unless it's a crappy job they can't get anyone else to do. They charge the company you're working for almost 100% over what you are actually getting. It's the biggest scam in the world. Employers end up letting you go because they can't afford the hourly rate Creative Circle is charging and Creative Circle won't release you to bill directly even after a year of making tens of thousands of dollars off of you.

    "An Embarrassingly Sad Talent Agency"

    I worked at Creative Circle

    Pros

Beyond getting paid weekly, there really aren't any. Go to Aquent/Vitamin Talent. I've worked with them and they actually have good clients. CC seems to be unconcerned about their clients (the companies) and their creative talent (candidates).

    Cons

I can't tell creative talent reading who may be reading this strong enough: CC will waste your time. They appear to be a legit agency on the surface, but aren't true professionals when it comes to hiring creative talent. I'm a professional contract designer/freelancer, and have been for the last 6 years. I have yet to see a company with recruiters who are so obviously incompetent, with so little business skill and background. It almost appears that they search job boards at random and try to see if they can find a candidate that fits the description. Just when you think CC may have actually done something right, they drop the ball yet again. After trying to be patient with the recruiters I've spoken to over the last year, I've simply had to determine that they've sought out people with no real business skill to be recruiters (and it's likely their management is much the same). Here are the Cons: • Contacting you REPEATEDLY for jobs that are NOT a fit for your skillset (after you've told them what your skillset is) • Having multiple recruiters from their own agency contact your about either the exact same job, or another job at the same company (recruiters don't seem to communicate well with each other, or don't have a software system to do so....) • Low-balling the hourly rate, but needing candidates with a great skillset • Recruiters actually READING and UNDERSTANDING what a company wants BEFORE they contact a candidate. I can't tell you how many times the job description and what the company was looking for was different, and not at all what I wanted. It's even worse when you go on the actual interview, and determine the recruiter may have paid zero attention to what the client wanted. • Getting an email 2-3 months LATER from a CC recruiter that a job is canceled or on hold • Noticing that the recruiter does not coordinate anything with companies in the midst of the hiring process (start dates, interview feedback, etc...) • All around incompetence. Recruiting is a skill, and it seems CC doesn't take that seriously
