    Doesn't Recommend
    Positive Outlook

I worked at Credit Suisse full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Great brand name - Decent salary - Decent work life balance - Relatively better facilities such as free cab pickup and drop off from and to home - Compared to its peers, little manifestation of "hire and fire" mindset

    Cons

    - Extremely monotonous, operational and process oriented work which does not need any intellectual capability - Politics beyond measure, from the 22 year old intern who joins full time after graduation from a prestigious university to the 32 year old mid-manager with an average background, no is spared - Very blurry and often annoyingly long path in terms of career growth, the ENO concept means technically the only promotion you can get next is an Asst. VP, which may take 4 years to even possibly never for some folks, whereas promotion onwards of Asst. VP is even more unclear and unlikely - Very negative and unhealthy atmosphere at work place, even within colleagues at same level, very immature and unfriendly behaviour by several folks at work place - Management, especially mid-level management, lacks technical, managerial, strategic, people and tactical skills - There is often a huge divide between what senior management expects from you and what mid management expects from you, and more often the expectations of the same manager change uncontrollably and unreasonably too - IT systems and IT support is pathetic, and this often results in long working hours, working from home as you try to solve problems that in absence of a bad IT would not have risen in the first place.
