      Pros

Good opportunity to learn as the IT systems are bad, so more hands on learning.

      Cons

Office politics. Bad promotion policy Lack of work ethics in senior management.

Great learning opportunity, supportive senior management

      Pros

You learn a lot here if you put in the effort. Great collegial atmosphere in NY office and senior management is very accessible if you prove your value. Pay is good if you prove your worth and more than most peers. For last two years, I have had no reason to complain about bonus, it was taken care of.

      Cons

Management takes time to evaluate you - so be prepared to shine for two-three years and then you get the recognition. IT systems are really flaky and all IT spend seems adhoc. Would be great if there could be one uniform and over arching system to learn rather than a hodge podge of different systems with different UIs and data feeds. Moving to onshore locations a little tricky and seems a matter of luck for some.

      Life at Credit Suisse Mumbai

      Pros

Good pay, work life balance, challenging work. Credit Suisse is one of the better paymasters out there. There's a healthy work-life balance with quite a few events, trips and even a work-life counselling helpline, The work done is challenging and interesting, with best-of-class usually being employed. The peer group in Credit Suisse is very knowledgeable.

      Cons

Average benefits and perks, quite a lot of politics, mixed management quality. Although most of the senior management is very mature and open, there are quite a few pockets which could use improvement in terms of professionalism and maturity.

      Exempt Non-Officer

      May 6, 2015 - Exempt Non-Officer in Pune

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Great brand name - Decent salary - Decent work life balance - Relatively better facilities such as free cab pickup and drop off from and to home - Compared to its peers, little manifestation of "hire and fire" mindset

      Cons

      - Extremely monotonous, operational and process oriented work which does not need any intellectual capability - Politics beyond measure, from the 22 year old intern who joins full time after graduation from a prestigious university to the 32 year old mid-manager with an average background, no is spared - Very blurry and often annoyingly long path in terms of career growth, the ENO concept means technically the only promotion you can get next is an Asst. VP, which may take 4 years to even possibly never for some folks, whereas promotion onwards of Asst. VP is even more unclear and unlikely - Very negative and unhealthy atmosphere at work place, even within colleagues at same level, very immature and unfriendly behaviour by several folks at work place - Management, especially mid-level management, lacks technical, managerial, strategic, people and tactical skills - There is often a huge divide between what senior management expects from you and what mid management expects from you, and more often the expectations of the same manager change uncontrollably and unreasonably too - IT systems and IT support is pathetic, and this often results in long working hours, working from home as you try to solve problems that in absence of a bad IT would not have risen in the first place.

      Bad experience,Favouritism and Dirty Politics

May 11, 2015 - Exempt Non Officer in Pune
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The Primary reason to work in this company is that they offer a good compensation package when you join after that good bonus but average hike.

      Cons

I worked in this company for around 2 years in the Product Control Divison ... and had a really bad experience working in that department. Late sittings are encouraged,Favouritism is rampant no vision of Senior Management about the company's plans in India... also exploiting employees in terms of promotion, money and behaviour and some of the managers feel pride in insulting the employees in front of the floor.
