Pros

Decent pay - not great, but not horrible. Shows are fun but they are not even close to the same level as the "real" major Las Vegas shows.

Cons

David Saxe is the worst thing about working at David Saxe Productions. He is rude, arrogant, condescending and constantly changes his mind because he has no clue how to run a business. Then when things don't work out because you follow his new scheme, he changes his mind again with another bad idea and belittles his managers and staff for not making the first bad idea work in the first place. Impossible to work for this self centered dictator. I have witnessed multiple instances, especially in David Saxe's staff meetings, where he turns into an absolutely irrational person who screams and curses out a manager in one moment, then is eerily mellow the next moment only to erupt in a fit of rage a moment later. It is actually very unnerving how he conducts himself in an unstable and unprofessional manner. Yes, he requires management to work obscenely long hours and expects 6 day work weeks as the norm. Yes, he requires managers to post bogus positive reviews then pressures managers to get employees to do the same. Yes, the shows are second rate with "B List" performers. If the shows were movies they wouldn't be in theaters, they would go straight to DVD. No, he doesn't respect anybody except himself. If you have an ounce of dignity, avoid working here. If you choose to work here and have to deal with David Saxe or any of his upper management, be prepared to endure a nightmare. You've been warned.

Pros

You get free show tickets

Cons

If you're smart enough to check Glassdoor, before accepting a position, you're probably too smart to work at David Saxe. I ignored the warnings, foolishly. There are video cameras everywhere ( including HR office), he taps the phones, and monitors your computer. At first I accepted this as the owner's business right. However, he actually sits in his office all day watching and criticizing everyone from his 55" monitors. As the HR manager, I had an employee come into my office because he was upset. Our conversation was listened to by the owner. I may have agreed with the employee regarding his issue a little too much because during the conversation, the owner interrupted, repeated back to me the things he didn't like about what I said, during my conversation with the employee. In my own defense, I was trying to talk the employee off of the proverbial ledge. In doing so, I may have empathized too much. This is why conversations in HR should be private. When he asked if I would drink the Kool-aid, I said I couldn't. Rightly so, I was terminated. I refused to compromise myself and I don't regret it. This environment is oppressive. He will never accept that he lacks necessary business acumen.

It’s important to note many factors are taken into consideration before an employee is terminated, a process overseen by the Human Resources Department. We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective and wish you luck in your future endeavors.
