I worked at Dealer Inspire full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Remote work possibilities, work from home Fridays - Relaxed dress code - Lots of opportunities to learn whatever you want, push yourself, and hone your skillset in the ways that you feel will make you better at your craft. You'll rarely, if ever, be forced into a box at DI - Young company overall, median age is maybe 28 - Entry level experience you can't beat. If you want to try some part of digital marketing,...

    Cons

    - Cliquey as can be, which may be a positive if you can find your crowd, or a negative if you don't - Open office environment isn't for everyone - Favoritism among management - Salaries are all below market value, so your best bet is to drive a hard bargain when negotiating your salary up front or you'll never see it - Cars.com (parent company) gets Christmas bonuses, despite laying off a couple hundred employees,...

    Advice to Management

There are countless employees that have been at DI for years who helped make the company what it is now. They've put in tons of late nights and weekends and truly invested in the company, but they're also getting older and their needs are changing. Show them some financial respect and stop treating them like having a pool table in office helps them pay the rent. Give them the opportunities to make large salary jumps...

      "Good Potential"

      StarStarStarStarStar
        Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Dealer Inspire full-time for more than a year

        Pros

Strong focus on work culture and creating passionate employees Focus on products. Focus on supporting current employees and creating a sense of community and advancement - providing good equipment and opportunities for training and advancement. Passionate and inspirational CEO

        Cons

A strange focus on self-help type of thinking, including an annual event bringing in Dr Oz guest style people presenting mostly useless ideas as revolutionary. Taking ideas from these things are the same as fad diets. People become very passionate about self-improvement in specific, fad ways then it transitions to a new thing soon enough. I personally am invested in self-improvement, but not in fads and what feels more...

        Advice to Management

Cars.com's influence is there, but some of their processes are significantly more corporate than DI's. Their culture is different, and it feels like absorbing too much guidance and direction from Cars, a company that has been laying off a lot of employees every year for a while, is concerning. True or not, it feels like they want DI to be the boat they can tie their sinking ship to to stay afloat, while jumping on the...

        Advice to Management

I laid everything out in my exit interview in the hopes that things will get better for future employees and current employees. I have checked in with former coworkers and they say nothing as has changed. Just shows you how much they actually care to change things and make them better.
