Pros
Great flexible working arrangements especially for parents, interesting work in an interesting field, brilliant people to work with, very good remote working options
Cons
The senior management is pretty bad, communication is awful, pay is very low for the type of work, treated very differently (and generally worse) than the rest of MoD)
- Current Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
So many opportunities for progression and work outside your job. So many perks like flexible working times
Cons
Pay could be higher, but the pros outweigh this, in my opinion.
- Current Employee, more than 10 years★★★★★
Pros
Flexible working, lots of opportunities in first few years as a graduate. Rinse it for all the experience you can get, and use it as a springboard to a proper career elsewhere.
Cons
Poor salaries which are getting worse, critical recruitment/retention problems meaning experienced staff who remain are overworked and constantly stressed. It's not a happy place for most.

Pros
- Ability to make a real-world impact - Being surrounded by interesting work - Flexible working patterns
Cons
- Lack of diversity, especially in technical roles (this is being addressed though) - Poor pay - A somewhat 'ageist attitude' - young employees with desires to lead are tossed to the side in favour of scientists who have been there for many years (some of whom don't want to lead anyway!) - No presence outside of the South of England.
