Pros
* Great flexibility - as long as the work gets done, no one really cares about the number of hours you are in office or if you work from home the entire week. Could change a bit depending on your project and manager but overall great flexibility * Listens to the employees - In the annual survey a few years ago, people complained about Work Life Balance. Deloitte came out and gave the entire Christmas/New year week... as off. 3-4 days over and above their policy of 10 India Holidays. * They have some great leaders in the office * Compensation is GREAT for people for the BEST performers and Deloitte keeps rewarding these people every year * Coach-coachee setup for Yearly Feedback - Each individual, irrespective of the level has a coach who represents them in the yearly feedback meeting with leadership. The coach helps bridge gaps and makes sure that the person is represented for the work they do. It is not just your lead/managers word at the end of the year that drives your compensation. * Transparency with feedback - Employees are updated mid-year through snapshots of their feedback from their various leads. Regular check-ins/discussions with lead are also promoted to keep all feedback transparent. * Onsite opportunities - If you are good at your work, the leadership will file for your visa to the US( H1B and rarely L1). But high level of rejection, so don't keep your hopes high. Whether you get it or not, is your luck though. * If you are extremely technical and aware of multiple technologies and leadership takes notice of how good you are it, you will be given a lot of value and opportunities in the firm to build things and work on proposals

* Compensation used to be still GOOD if not great for the average performers. But, of late the company no longer compensates well for average performers resulting in displeasure across the firm. Earlier, people were a lot more satisfied on average * Promotion Year Setting - Laterals who come in at the exp which could be considered border line between two designations are always given the lesser designation and it... takes them 1.5 - 2 years to get promoted after joining the organization * Cost cutting of late - Deloitte is not able to retain the same kind of employee friendly policies because of the sheer growth that is happening in the organization. Recently they stopped all cab services for employees. * Networking - this could be a pro or a con depending on your personality. If you are an extrovert and enjoy creating contacts, this is a pro. If you don't, this can really impact your career in the long run. The higher you go up the ladder, the more this becomes extremely important. * Most clients are US based resulting in long hours, handover calls in the night and morning resulting in a very long day * Work Life Balance depends on the phase of the project you are in * Firm Initiatives - Apart from having a lot of project work, each individual is expected to do Firm Initiatives which is basically doing more work other than just project work for the organization. This is very different from other organizations and can be very difficult to get involved with if you are not an extrovert. You need a good 'network' * Old Tech - depending on which offering/department you join, you could either be places in something upcoming or some type of legacy project where you will have nothing to learn technically * Be ready to work on anything - some people face a problem of being hired for skill A but since projects aren't there, they are forced to work on skill B with the same expectations.

The Company is losing the 'Big Firm Small Feel' environment. We need to gradually size up instead of turning into just another IT company.
