      A great organization and the kindest team I have ever worked with

      Pros

      The team at Destination Canada is made of some incredible people, passionate about tourism, supportive, authentic, genuinely kind, etc. It is a family oriented organisation with a majority of women in leadership positions.

      Cons

      As a crown corporation, there are a lot of processes and guidelines to follow, which time consuming. There is little to no room for career progression and the majority of the employees are on one to three-year contracts leading to important turn over and uncertainty.

      Interesting subject matter, intelligent colleagues

      Cons

      Small company with ambitions that are too large for the number of staff. Overwork, overtime, fast-paced all the time, everything is an emergency. Very stressful. Too top heavy and no room for advancement. Salaries aren't great.

      Pros

      Loved working with partners across Canada and selling our beautiful country around the globe. Many employees are dedicated, smart, and creative.

      Cons

      Many employees are overworked and underappreciated. Turnover was around 70% when I left. It felt like the executives are in it for their best interests much of the time, not for the good of the organization.
