I worked at Digital Domain full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits, good people, pay is average. Have time off when needed. I have no other pros. Training is horrible...run if they offer you a job

    Cons

Upper Management needs to learn how to manage or to speak to people. The HR staff is very unprofessional and blames others for their ethics issues.

I have been working at Digital Domain full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Digital Domain can be an incredible place to work; you are surrounded by talented, brilliant people. When things are going well it's like a family of geniuses, where amazing work is done by people pushing the limits of their abilities. Unlike other companies in the industry there's quite a bit of room for movement once you get a foot in the door, and there's a lot more camaraderie and mutual support than I've seen at other facilities.

    Cons

The work/life balance simply isn't there; too many hours of overtime, almost all of which are due to poor coordination and planning, as well as an overall lack of ability in upper management to steer the ship well. When times are good there's too much to do in too short a time and the burnout rate is extremely high; when times are bad, which under past executives has been far too often, there's a palpable sense of dread in the air, and still too much to do in too little time, while promotions and pay increases become increasingly rare, while added responsibilities definitely do not.

I worked at Digital Domain full-time

    Pros

Great projects to work on. Collaborative culture and generally nice people. Depending on the project you could find yourself working many hours or reasonable amounts. A few fantastic VFX supervisors, producers and usually good to great directors. The work can be a lot of fun. If you're Canadian, much of production is being shipped to Vancouver.

    Cons

Half of the upper management was dysfunctional and a detriment to the company while the other half engaged in damage control and tried to move the company forward (true of most companies). Much of the work is shipped to Vancouver.

I have been working at Digital Domain

    Pros

Talent in every department is amazing. Great place to grow your abilities from experienced to outstanding. Robust infrastructure and equipment. Nuke software was developed here and the artists know how to use it to the extreme!

    Cons

Communication is limited between upper management and employees. Long hours. Commute to west side is tough. Parking is limited. Management of projects is lacking at times.
