I worked at Dow Jones full-time

    Pros

Good benefits plan Some smart and kind co-workers

    Cons

Company is struggling to survive in a rapidly declining business with no real plan. Constant fighting and political games among managers is like watching a real life Game of Thrones. Top executives are all older Brits and Australians who don't really have a good idea of what appeals to a younger Americans, so they keep the company afloat by getting rid of a chunk of people every year. Saw many smart, capable... people let go because of politics or insane behavior, while others who are incompetent remain because they are friends with the right people. Oh, and if you happen to be a woman or a minority keep in mind that they will pay you less than your colleagues, just because. Do yourself a favor and go to a media company that is focused on this century.

I have been working at Dow Jones full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great, global media company with a great reputation. Managers and VPs are all very helpful when it comes to career advancement. Great work like balance, good benefits and flexibility to work from home or at other offices when traveling. Overall, it's been an absolute pleasure to work for WSJ. This is one of the few jobs where I've been excited to wake up and go to work every day.

    Cons

My department was very understaffed, and execs refused to hire until more senior positions were filled.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to assess hiring holds based on department rather than on overall company structure. If we do not have enough support in strategic planning & delivery, campaigns will suffer.

I worked at Dow Jones full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They had good benefits and relatively long annual leave

    Cons

Too much management changes causing directions to always change.

    Advice to Management

Figure out what you want and allow the same opportunities to ppl from different countries. Does not make sense that employees from the western countries can move between different countries to gain work experience but not the asian countries
