I worked at DuPont full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Compensation is good; many responsibilities while remaining within your comfort zone.

    Cons

Middle level Management for certain technologies are really good and some are equally localized and nowhere near to be called as leaders.

    Advice to Management

Diversity will always be there but then being able to understand that aspect in its complete sense and adherence to the core values need to be ensured especially with some of the mid-level managers.

I have been working at DuPont full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Safety conscious and have a safety mindset but does not pay great.

    Cons

It is okay but not great comparatively speaking

    Advice to Management

Always pay people well to retain talent. Invest in your knowledge base.

I worked at DuPont full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good people employed there. Safe place to work. Management made a good effort to raise the training level and professionalism of the work force.

    Cons

Unfortunately this location was closed in 2016. Most people found other jobs relatively quickly partly because of their job skills and high level of training.

    Advice to Management

Over years poor business decisions have been made which severely limited the profitability of this company. Most of management has turned over with golden parachutes. New management has totally changed company.

I have been working at DuPont full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    good pay for this area

    Cons

long hours, thankless job. I also have ethical concerns. This company is very site dependent, some sites are great, some not so much.

    Advice to Management

Don't take DuPont's old reputation for granted. Times have changed.

I worked at DuPont full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The manufacturing plants are full of highly skilled people that genuinely want to do a good job (from managers to engineers to operators). Respectful work culture.

    Cons

Bureaucratic work processes impede progress towards business goals. Must work by unanimous consensus - nearly anyone in the organization can prevent an idea from being executed. Considerable uncertainty with upcoming merger with Dow Chemical.

    Advice to Management

Strive every day to eliminate the red tape for your employees and let them drive the needed change.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at DuPont full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Was one of the greatest companies to work for with many opportunities. Some of the best and brightest folks in industry.

    Cons

Single minded quest for "shareholder value" , poor management, lack of vision, years of sub-par performance and now DuPont as it was will cease to exist. The new Dow-DuPont era will see more jobs eliminated. The science and engineering organization has been gutted. Those remaining are demoralized. Waiting for the turmoil ahead.

    Advice to Management

Some cuts needed to happen along but along with selective hiring for transformation. You cut too far too indiscriminately. Young hires are running away. Lure them back or your future is bleak. Get the transformation over quickly as nothing will happen until the other shoe drops

I have been working at DuPont full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Cons

*Over-the-top red tape and layers required to do anything *Safety culture is good, but at times can be over the top and lack common sense *Benefits not that great (and getting worse) *Remote sites that have little potential for advancement

    Advice to Management

Remove management layers, implement safety policies with common sense, and reduce the premium creep on benefits over the last few years.
