I worked at Electronic Arts full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good pay Weekly Drinks and Food Great Facilities (sports and fitness) Easy job Well known projects

    Cons

Unfulfilling work Little career guidance Turning door of contract employees Corporate hierarchy No benefits

    Advice to Management

EA has always suffered from its inclination toward annual releases. A distinct lack of creativity stems from this approach, which gives little fulfillment to game developers. Smaller incubator style projects and more interesting IP's would certainly make EA Vancouver a more fulfilling place to work. Also, fostering growth and enabling employees to progress and transition to higher paid positions with greater responsibility would ensure stronger development teams over time. Right now there is very little loyalty to the company, and very little inspiration to do quality work.

    Pros

The workplace has a deep pool of experience to draw from. If you're proactive in your contract, you will learn a lot about the industry and strengthen your skill set.

    Cons

The year has been good so far. Will update when I have con feedback.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Electronic Arts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice co workers to your face. Generally ok atmosphere.

    Cons

Culture of people with poor work ethic and back stabbing attitudes. They keep people long past their expiration dates and drag the entire studio down with them in terms of learning new tools and process. Not a culture that values change or process improvement when it comes to actual implementation. Everyone agrees on paper but no one wants to actually do the leg work. You will constantly fight your peers over every little change and your effort will not be rewarded.
