I worked at Electronic Arts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great People. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable. There are some really great, smart and talented people working here. Nice work environment. The building itself was nice and had good design, which made the space feel relaxing despite the open plan seating typical of corporate offices.

    Cons

The pay was abysmal for the amount of work and expertise required from QA. The management, though well intended and helpful in some regards, had a hard time grasping some of the concepts, due to their expertise lying in a different area altogether. This led to some friction and misunderstandings about the work we do and the amount of time needed to complete it. Overtime, though never enforced, was always... expected, and you'd be looked on poorly for refusing to participate. Work-Life balance can be difficult if you want to please Management.

    Advice to Management

Insist on better onboarding procedures to be implemented, not just for your team, but for yourselves as well. Management is not just about numbers, and how many boxes your team checks at the end of the current sprint. You need to have a working understanding of your team's workflows in order do direct your resources where they're needed without wasting time, or blaming them for things outside of their control.
