      Good company with some issues - Principal Analyst Avangrid Employee Review

      Pros

      Phenomenal 401k match (1.5X up to 12%), standard salary for industry. Avangrid has done a better job retaining talent / minimizing layoffs during recent market headwinds than their competitors in the renewables business.

      Cons

      HR is totally incompetent and overly bureaucratic. Internal politics get in the way of productivity. Too many toxic personalities in high positions. The parent company back in Spain has a clear but unspoken preference for hiring / promoting Spaniards above anyone else.

      Although the company is headquartered in the United States all of the serious decisions are made in Spain and Europe rather than here

      Pros

      Solid pay, amazing benefits, best 410k match I've ever seen. Very generous PTO.

      Cons

      Extreme micromanagement, very high turnover, getting anything accomplished is a challenge. Management knows there are major issues, but nothing changes. Job would be bearable if the manager were replaced. Way too much finger pointing.
