Pros
Great company and well-respected brand in town. Attracts fairly smart people Young staff You learn the ropes very quickly since you are thrown right in Good place to work if you want to work hard for 1-3 years, learn as much as possible, and then move to another company for long-term employment.
Cons
Staff across all departments are overworked, leading to a very high turnover rate (not unusual for certain departments to have a 50% turnover within a year or two). Some positions are severely underpaid. Work/life balance is less than adequate. Boston magazine will always attract new applicants, so the company does not put much effort into fostering the current staff.
