Senior leadership can really make or break a company—something I hadn’t fully realized until now. Just a few new leaders can completely shift the culture and direction of a business. Ever since the company was bought out and new management came in, they’ve been trying to turn it into a mini-Accenture. The focus has shifted to chasing big clients, cranking out work, and prioritizing sales over everything else. Building strong client relationships or focusing on retention doesn’t seem to matter anymore if they can land new deals. The work expectations are way too much—working 60 hours a week feels like the new normal. And as others have mentioned, there have been layoffs, but leadership seems determined to pretend they didn’t happen. It’s like we’re all supposed to act like nothing’s changed.
