Pros

Remote opportunities is one of the only pros I can think of at the moment. Some coworkers are genuinely nice people that care about you as a person above the job.

Cons

Company is revenue and profit driven, every decision made is based on “the numbers”. The workload is unbalanced, there are times where some are at their wits end with the amount of work while others are “under utilized”. It’s hard to take PTO or sick days because they want everyone to be operating with high billable/utilized hours regularly, which means if someone is out and needs coverage, it is a lot of work for others to pick up on top of their own workload. Project leads often agree to client requests and demands even though it creates tight turnarounds and stress for the project team. Speaking to management doesn’t seem to generate change/improvements fast enough. The work conditions makes employees be someone they don’t want to be (assuming this may be true for many and that people aren’t just bad) - demanding, impatient, producing low quality work, uncaring, inconsiderate, self centered, and rude. Even though they say we’re a team and we work together, there’s definitely a hierarchy and it is felt by support staff. Theirs a lack of respect for our time and a lot of job scope creep; responsibilities often get passed to support staff when others feel it’s not worth their time or they don’t have time for it. There are limited roles, so growth is only possible for a special few. There are performance reviews of employees with their managers, but a lack of review of management. There is no pay transparency, but people talk, and there is definitely pay discrepancies. Annual/Merit raises barely meet cost of living increases. There are 15 PTO days which have to be used for sick days. Number of company holidays is dependent on what day of the week they fall on for that calendar year. They only cover part of your health insurance premium. They don’t pay me enough to be able to utilize their 401K so I can’t speak to that.

Pros

Curion does a great job of connecting teammates and departments across the US making communication easy. A large part of the company is remote so you don't feel like an outsider if you aren't based in Illinois or a city they have a facility in. It's a friendly environment filled with smart people who care about their work.

Cons

There are opportunities for technology modernization to optimize our workflows.
