Pros
The people that I worked with were always really nice and intelligent. There is opportunity to learn and grow if you go for it. Good name to have on your resume. Work is pretty easy and work-life balance is really good, at least in IT - not true in other departments I hear.
Cons
Culture from the top is toxic. They expect a lot out of you but aren’t willing to give you anything in return. Budgets are constantly being cut so raises and promotions become more and more difficult to obtain. Benefits are pitiful - we constantly ask for cheaper and better healthcare and instead Dish keeps it the same and increases the cost. Layoffs are fairly frequent even during non-COVID times, and during COVID I would’ve expected execs to take a pay cut before layoffs, which didn’t happen. When they finally did take a cut it was small. Speaking of COVID, hope you’re ready to risk your health and safety by working for Dish! They forced everyone back into the office regardless of if you wanted to go or not. A direct quote from a VP was - “We need more people to come back, the office is too empty.” THAT’S THE POINT, WE’RE IN A PANDEMIC. Especially when meetings and everything are still virtual, and you have to wear a mask all day in the office. It’s a great example of how Dish will never change from their outdated policies and don’t trust their employees.
