Dell is fantastic for the most part. Plenty of opportunity to grow, mostly good leadership, resources galore and pretty good benefits.
Cons
Peer conflicts and unclear perception of what each role should entail in the way of responsibilities.

Hired as fully remote? Too bad, go to the office
10 May 2023 - Technical Sales RepresentativeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I was hired as fully remote which has been great and I have proven myself to be productive at home. Benefits are great- health insurance, paid time off etc. my director manager is a saint, truly cares for their direct reports
Cons
Even though i was hired as fully remote, Dell recently announced that all workers who live within a “one hour commute” must report to the office 3 times a week. This isn’t fair- I never wanted to work in an office, none of my team is local so it will just be me. The TSR role in general just sucks- you are expected to know the technical details of the entire datacenter portfolio and you do not have an engineer to back you up like every other sales role but you aren’t required to have a technical background. The TSR gets the lowest pay of the sales team, but is tasked with the most technically intensive work. Our quotas are next to impossible to meet since we are coming off historical spends during the pandemic years, so I don’t know how I’ll ever get promoted in order to transfer out of this role- but I might just leave since it’s no longer remote.
