Pros
Coworkers were friendly in department
Cons
Terrible company to work for. Last year I took FMLA leave for my mother’s cancer, and management was fully aware of my family situation. I was a remote employee for two years and relocated from Nevada to California after my father passed away in March and my mother’s late-stage cancer worsened. Every request to continue my remote work in California was denied with no willingness to accommodate. I was ultimately told to either resign or be fired. Like most people know, being fired can affect future references and rehire status, so I under my managers guidance decided to resign just to protect my future employment opportunities. After relocating to California to care for my mother and grieve the loss of my father, I applied for unemployment through Nevada to look for similar positions in California and was approved. Elevance then has chose to appeal my unemployment benefits in what feels like an attempt to strip away my financial stability during one of the hardest periods of my life. This company talks about work-life balance and employee care, but my experience showed the complete opposite. There was no compassion, no flexibility, and no real support for someone dealing with major family loss and a parent battling cancer. This company is not friendly what so ever with accommodations, employee care, work life balance and has no compassion.
