Interview Process This was one of the strangest interviews I've ever attended. The whole process took 2 months and was very disorganized, riddled with personal questions (about my ethnicity, age and drug use), partying, drugs a culture of favouritism. I met with a few different team members in my first meeting (a few Senior Members). I got a really strong impression of a highly aggressive sales environment and some very odd questions; How old are you? What is your ethnic background? Do you smoke? How much do you party? I was asked to come back to meet with the Owners (Brad & Drew) for a final meeting. Drew - sold me on an opportunity that in reality didn't exist. Drew mentioned how I would be able to earn 100K in my first year and seemed like a great opportunity at the time. I was given an offer and decided to leave a steady and "professional job" to join what I thought was an awesome place to work - I was very wrong about this one! Save yourself the time and DO NOT INTERVIEW here!! My Experience with Gurulink DO NOT WORK here. I only worked for Gurulink for a short time (3 months). - Aggressive Sales environment, if they don't like you or you're not buddies with the boss you will be fired. - Training was non existent. There ware “team leads” that guided you but ZERO value was added as majority of the time they were critiquing your phone conversation and there was always something wrong in the call. - Party environment with drugs and alcohol. I couldn't believe how much marijuana was in the office! - Unethical business practices recording candidates calls without permission. My First Day When I started my first day at Gurulink in was in December. I arrived on my first day with noone at the building to greet me. I was locked out and didn't have keys, I had no contact information for anyone to call. When I was finally let inside they put me upstairs near the back deck, I had no phone at my desk and it was a very messy environment with garbage and beer cans from what looked like a a frat house. On both the lower and upper floors there were Several employees rolling marijuana at their desks, I was so shocked this was allowed, especially on my First Day! There were constant smoke breaks as the cigarette smoke seeped through the doors. I hated the smell of cigarettes as I am a non-smoker. Training I spent a total of 3 months at Gurulink. After my initial interviews I was actually excited to join as I thought this would actually be a great place to work. This is the true definition of a Sink or Swim Environment - all the Senior members and owners care about is money. If you're not making them money they don't care about you at all, you're just another commodity that can be replaced. In fact, during my short tenure with Gurulink, I saw 5 employees who were either fired or let-go of. I was terminated from Gurulink (the first job I ever have been fired from). They provided no reasoning and sat me down and said this isn't working. I was given NO Training, I RARELY ever saw Drew or Brad (the owner's) who claimed they would "support" new hires. The team had mandatory meetings to attend (I found this odd as we were all independent contractors). For training purposes, I was asked to record calls as part of the Gurulink ATS (Applicant Tracking System that stores resumes and notes). I was asked to "Press *1" when calling a candidate to record the call. Last time I checked, recording phone calls is ILLEGAL unless you're given permission or have asked the candidate. I was called a "NewBee" as I was new to the team. Gurulink would put on monthly staff parties where they would encourage excessive drinking. They forced me to shotgun a tall can of beer at my first staff party. I really didn't want to chug the beer but felt pressured to do so.
