I actually was hired in 2016 which was the first year the school was open. It was really difficult for me because I had to use barely ANY resources or budget to create lessons and activities for my students. I was literally printing teacherspayteachers activities every day just to give these kids something to do. Tons of work on my end, and I never felt supported. My Chinese co teacher didn’t give me fair access to our allocated budget so she spent it on stupid craft supplies that she wanted. I had to have a serious discussion with her about this. I just wasn’t respected, supported, or given any choices within my role. I was basically just a white face for the parents to see in pictures with their kids. I don’t know if May is still working there but that lady was the most unpleasant person I have ever seen, let alone someone working in a school. She was like a black widow spider. Her energy was so off. And she managed all the teachers, so obviously she would never side with the foreign staff or have our backs and everything became an issue. It really tainted my time in Taiwan. I substitute taught at other schools that didn’t have these issues. STAY AWAY from Korrnell. It’s just not worth it.
