Pros
If you're in need of employment with limited alternatives, it can serve as a temporary workplace until you secure another opportunity.
Cons
There's a noticeable cultural shift underway, particularly since the company relocated its headquarters to Malaysia. This move has prompted a deliberate effort to shift labor away from US operations to Asian locations. Unfortunately, following the layoffs, a toxic culture has become prevalent. Taking a new position here can be precarious, often serving as a short-term role until management deems it unnecessary. Finding competent leadership in Lam, where expertise in processes and effective leadership are lacking, can be challenging. Decision-making tends to rely on hearsay or gut instincts, even though project management exists, with a tendency to overlook proper planning when implementing new ideas. There's a frequent push for progress, even though the outcomes may lead to downstream problems, requiring rework and ultimately resulting in cost-ineffective solutions. If you've joined Lam, hopefully, you negotiated your salary wisely, as the company struggles with employee retention.
