Pros
Dependent on client culture - If client is chilled, they are chilled. Not too much micro-management from upper hierarchies - because they don't care unless escalated. Benefits and leaves match market average (just average). Supports work from home, employee education through Udemy, etc. Hard to be fired out from, or shown doors : Good place for some breathing ground after an intense episode elsewhere.
Cons
Dependent on client culture - can quickly become worse if the client has exploitation mindset. Some verticals (I know for industrials) want tech leads to take up sales (that too upto 1M per quarter) - which is downright unfair. Tech Leads are not sales or Delivery leads. There is a clear demarcation. The mindset of upper management is to keep the client billing running, often at the cost of employees. Work from office is basically working from client location - no premises of their own. Offshore upper management within verticals are useless - with no idea of what they support. The quality of resource pool match, support with deliveries, having a better control on offshore delivery is completely random (good, bad, and everything in between). Compensation bonus or increment is literal peanuts (even worse). The only way to grow is to leave. Those on visa are guaranteed to be exploited. US Employees are guaranteed to feel lost- as there is no peer network or support.
