Pros

- Hybrid working and flexibility: At Metanoia, employees have the option to work either from home or in the office, accommodating individual preferences and promoting a better work-life balance. - Supporting team members: My manager and colleagues have consistently offered support and viewed my mistakes as opportunities for growth. Management avoids micromanagement, allowing for innovation and experimentation in problem-solving. - Close-knit culture: As a mid-size institute located in a charming, cozy building, Metanoia fosters a tight-knit culture where we feel valued and connected. - Kitchen Facilities: The facilities of Kitchen are really better than other Institute, it might not be fancy but it is like a home equipped with all you need. - Christmas Holidays: In addition to regular holidays, we enjoy three weeks of paid time off in December, which is highly cherished and appreciated.

Cons

- Resource Limitations: Owing to some budget constraints, Metanoia has limited resources (financial, technological, etc.) that leads to more admin and operational work on day-to-day basis.

Pros

Hybrid working, nice location to commute to and 'was' a good working environment first couple of years.

Cons

Many colleagues had issues when new lesdership came in, staff reluctant to change, high turnover, allegations of discrimination and racism. Lots of politics and some very incompetent staff who were poorly managed.

Pros

I had some wonderful colleagues and students, although most of my excellent colleagues have burnt out and left in the past 12 months.

Cons

Academic standards and clinical ethics mean nothing to management - none of whom are therapists. I witnessed a catalogue of harms to students and staff caused by incompetence, a lack of care, exploitative practices, and toxic fear-mongering. When staff raised serious issues of racial and disability discrimination, they were side-lined or punished. Apply here if you want to be groomed for specialness, before being sucked dry and ignored. I’ve witnessed this happening over and over again, to some genuine and caring teachers. No matter how many teachers leave, management still don’t value their opinion, and don’t understand that without teachers they have no business. The just want the students’ money, but what they offer in terms of education and infrastructure is meagre, unless supplemented by the generosity and talent of teaching staff.

Metanoia Institute Response

We appreciate your feedback, and we are very sorry to hear your views . We believe the spirit of this social media channel is for organisations to learn and respond to the various issues raised by current and past employees, who use the platform to raise issues, concerns or express their own personal views of the organisation. Like any organisation it is difficult to respond to some posts to ensure that a fair response is offered and to ensure that the issues raised are seen to be addressed or, that those reading the posts can get an open and honest view of the organisation and where it is heading. Metanoia, like most organisations has been required to respond to the ever-increasing challenges it is facing to ensure its continued success. It has found the need to change how the organisation operates and continues to improve its service to its students. In response to direct student feedback and commissioned independent reviews on how the organisations can grow and achieve its vision, it has had to undergo a change, This resulted in an Organisation Enhancement Plan that focused on improving the service to students, improving our academic excellence and creating a truly engaged culture. We have embarked on recruiting the talent we need to develop our continued academic excellence and providing specialist support to students that will allow current academic staff to focus on actual teaching. We are in the final stages of introducing our new Academic, People and Culture and Marketing and Communication strategies, all focused on ensuring, we create an organisation that can continue to prosper and achieve in transcending barriers, making therapy accessible to every corner of society, using our influence to create impactful and positive change. This has created a number of challenges not only for the organisation but for some individuals who unfortunately do not embrace the change required to ensure the success for all. We continue to welcome and encourage open and collaborative feedback.
