Pros

Once a week free personal car wash, PTO. Easy to be promoted if you're GM favors you.

Cons

Each location suffers heavily from favoritism when it comes to scheduling and promotion. They expect everyone to invest too much of their time and energy to a this job, typically for younger people, by setting extremely high monthly sales goals for no extra compensation. Hourly rate is poor for how much they expect in return. Also corporate is extremely overbearing with their special "culture."

Pros

They had a full equipped kitchen where they constantly had free snacks for employees in a vending machine. My direct supervisor was nice, and gave clear feedback on my personal performance.

Cons

Parking at Mister Car Wash HQ was a constant challenge. If you worked normal business hours, you often had to park down the street in another lot. Because the office is downtown, I sometimes felt unsafe walking to and from my car after being approached by homeless in the area. The workload in customer care was demanding. Calls came in nonstop, and we were expected to move from one call to the next within seconds. There were often upset customers and claims about damage to vehicles, which added to the pressure. The strict timing metrics made the job mentally exhausting, and I was surprised I stayed a full year. I also felt that advancement opportunities depended heavily on personal connections. I applied for several internal roles, interviewed, and wasn’t given clear feedback about why I wasn’t selected. It seemed like those who were part of certain social circles were more likely to move up. The final straw for me was receiving only a $0.20 raise, despite consistently outperforming peers in quality control, response times, and other metrics. I was shocked by how little my work was valued and immediately started looking for another job.
