Pros

I was offered Administrative Assistant position and gladly accepted. After starting work on Tuesday, they called me on Sunday and told me to not come in anymore, because they did not think my Excel skills were up to par. My computer was not up and running until end of shift on my third day- Thursday. The following day, Friday, was 1/2 day. Excel has many versions and different application types. I learned the training aspect and concepts quickly. On Friday, I followed the steps and exported data from IQMS (their in-house program), streamlined the data to reflect late or no delivery items, and formatted appropriately. I asked a few questions regarding which column to export in order to capture the correct data. I then received a phone call on Sunday telling me not to come in anymore. What???? I never heard of a company that fires you after three days! In only three days of working there, I noticed about three or four steno books with previous employees' notes. I was really looking forward to working for them. I really don't understand why they ended a job so suddenly and unjustly. It makes no sense. I am a good person, never got into any kind of trouble. I respected everyone and everything there. Maybe they misunderstood something? Shouldn't they have discussed it with me?

Cons

I haven't worked there long enough to give comprehensive response.

Pros

It's a good place to start your career, as they are willing to hire entry level for many administrative positions. Managers are understanding and will help you grow as an employee as long as you put the effort in. There are a lot of good friendly people. Responsibility will grow and you will learn a lot of different aspects of your field, as the company is small so you tend to work in a small team or solo. Most managers will verbally praise you for hard and good work, which is nice and they will guide you when you need it. Also there are travel opportunities to the headquarter in France which is coon if you like to travel.

Cons

Even if you go above your original job description, a promotion is not very likely. Company is too small for you to move up the totem pole. There is an opportunity to get a yearly raise but it is not significant. Pay benefits and vacation time are not great, however they have implemented HR planning to try and improve these issues, so I think in the next year it will improve tremendously.
