      Spineless and unethical

      Pros

Access to top professional if you are assigned to the right team

      Cons

Can’t trust anything promised. Passive aggressive and blame everyone else, including the client for a lack of experience and values. Unethical resource management practices - expecting hourly employees to work overtime for free because management makes unrealistic promises to clients.

          Pros

Everything is solo. Your job is to solve tickets on your own. If you enjoy multitasking, again this job is for you. You will have multiple items in flight at all times. If you enjoy working in an environment where going a whole day without any conversations is the norm, this is for you.

          Cons

Onboarding is non-existent. You basically figure everything out yourself. Teamwork is not a thing. They brag saying they are all about it, but in reality there is absolutely none. Everyone requires to log hours towards specific clients. If you ask someone for guidance and they oblige, they cannot log hours towards their clients, and cannot log towards yours, and must work overtime to reach their quota. Client requests are 3 people removed, increasing the time required to complete a task. Tasks are always time boxed. The chances of going over are pretty high. There is no growth opportunity. The architects will make the design decisions and you will follow.

Thank you for your feedback. It sounds like the experience you had at One North is not the one you expected. To be transparent, we acknowledge that not everyone will be a fit for our agency, and that’s OK. To be a successful technologist at One North, you have to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and passionate about solving technology challenges in a pragmatic and consultative fashion. This requires frequent communication and close collaboration with your team of multi-disciplinary colleagues. Our internal teams and processes are designed to promote this. To further set our technologists up for success, and ramp them up to do great work, we have built and continue to refine a robust onboarding experience for new hires. We’re very proud of this program, and its accompanying curriculum, which immerses new team members into the agency and exposes them to our great people, and the deep expertise they’ve developed over decades in the space. We take ongoing management across the technology team very seriously and have a high-frequency cadence of both individual check-ins and team meetings that continue to promote collaboration and development once the onboarding period is over. We have also created a shared knowledge base that the entire technology community contributes to, as well as extensive documentation, to help support both new and existing team members. We take great pride in the culture we’ve built and know that this environment helps our technologists develop and refine their skillsets, accelerate their careers, and learn from their multi-disciplinary teammates and clients. But, again, we know that this environment isn’t for everyone. We wish you the best in the future and hope you’re able to find an opportunity that better aligns with your strengths and expectations. — Jeff Hirner, Executive Director, Founder
