The most hostile work environment I've ever seen... and I'm from the south

    Pros

    Allowed me to have money

    Cons

Cheaply slapped together properties being rented at obscene rates. Corporate officers treated me like a pariah at the Holiday party whenever I didn't agree with the positive things they were saying about the South that were false. Was promised that I would be trained on what I did not know. I was never trained on much of anything. I would get screamed at and insulted any time I didn't already know something. Was screamed at for extended periods on a regular basis. Supervisor brags about screaming at people, even while in the middle of screaming. Once I was screamed at over something for 10 minutes while trying to agree and cooperate with what needed doing. It seemed to be resolved, then my manager suddenly began to scream again as if I had been spending the past 10 minutes arguing with him and then threatened to write me up for getting defensive when I expressed mild confusion. He then spent an entire hour and a half going ballistic over a range of things I can't even begin to remember fully. Almost none of it had anything to do with me, and yet the rage was focused directly at me as if it did. I was made to listen to him describe all the child abuse he experienced growing up just so he could scream at me about how things like that don't matter. The rare instances of the verbal assault that were pertaining to me involved having the most childish, irresponsible, and insulting words put in my mouth and insulting as if I had used them in an attempt to defend myself, while I had literally sat in near-catatonic silence for the entire duration. I genuinely have no idea how I managed to come back the next day. I was brow beaten more than once into revealing medical conditions I don't feel safe disclosing on applications. I believe my resistance to this deliberate pressure is the only reason I was able to transition into new employment instead of having my income vanish suddenly. Absolutely disgusting, shameful, insulting, and in every way unacceptable discourse at work regarding other employees' weight, disabilities, assumed disabilities, lifestyle choices, and personal decision making. Company has a horrific lack of humanity for the unhoused and other vulnerable members of society. The company is fully aware behavior like this goes on and allows it.
