Pros

I used to love working here, RSA Medical has really let me down recently. After putting in so much hard work, we have received negative feedback, and no words of encouragement, and threatening emails. Seems to be that the ones that work hardest and work on more programs, are the ones that receive the negative feedback and scores.

Cons

I used to really enjoy this job. However, RSA Medical has ruined it for many by all of the restrictions/unfairness they have added. We are only able to take breaks at scheduled times.(If not, its counted against you) If you have to go to the bathroom, or even need to step out for a minute, you receive a threatening email of HOW many times you were unavailable that Month , and that if you continue to do so, you will be terminated. So disheartening. I'm embarrassed to tell my family that I'm not able to step out for a second to call them unless its at a scheduled time, or else I may be reprimanded. Lunches are also at scheduled time. If you are on a long call and you miss your targeted lunch time, at the end of the month, it is counted against you. Micromanagement, micromanagement, micromanagement. We are all adults, so please respect us, and do not treat us like children. It can be a wonderful job, but these restrictions make me embarrassed to tell others about my career.

Hearing the feedback you have left is very concerning and disheartening. We should always strive to ensure employees feel valued and respected. We understand the frustration around adherence and hear your complaint often from employees that are not fully informed on how adherence is calculated. I would encourage you to sit with your direct manager so that they can fully explain how calculations are determined and the amount of time that is pre-built into the tracking numbers for lunch, breaks, bathroom, meetings and other time off of the floor. Sometimes a one-on-one meeting is needed to get the full explanation which might help in this situation. I would also encourage you to go to one of the TOMs or even the VP of Operations if your direct manager cannot give you a clear explanation. Every employee should fully understand how their work is measured. As for the last comment about sending threatening emails on bathroom use, I do not believe there was anything in the email that was “threatening” but rather apologetic about the majority of employees that the email did not pertain to and a plea for those employees that did not use the bathroom properly to have respect for the others in the office and the cleaning staff that has to deal with the issue on a sometime weekly basis. I’ve attached the email language to this posting response so that those reading your posting can determine if they felt it was “threatening” at all. While I understand it is very unorthodox to post internal emails sent to employees, I have a stronger sense of responsibility to be open in our communications. Email sent to all employees on 4/15/15: First, please let me apologize to the majority of our employees that this email does not pertain to but I am sending anyway as I must address with all employees. To the very small minority of employees that this does directly address, I wish I could address you individually and in-person as all employees should not have to receive an email discussing bathroom etiquette. There have been multiple complaints over the past few months regarding employees using the bathroom stalls as telephone booths. Apparently employees are going into the bathroom stalls with their cell phones and having conversations. Unfortunately, due to the volume of employees doing this, those employees who truly do need to use the facilities cannot and end up waiting their entire break time waiting for a stall to open up. Please refrain from using the bathroom for your calls and instead use the lunchroom, elevator vestibule, or first floor. While discussing the bathrooms, I must also address the cleanliness situation that has been an ongoing issue for us. We have the most amazing cleaning staff at any company I have ever worked with and I am appalled at the various situations that they face on a very regular basis. Our office space is such a beautiful work environment, I’m asking everyone to respect the space and those that work here. We have had multiple issues over the past few months but the most recent is that “aim” is difficult for someone in the women’s restroom. If you do not want to sit and you do not want to use the paper seat covers, I ask you to please have better “aim” or use bathrooms somewhere else. Our employees and especially our cleaning staff should not have to deal with what you leave on the floor on a weekly if not daily basis. It is a health issue, a cleanliness issue and most of all a decency issue so please stop.

Pros

Comparable in compensation for the position I am in. Fast pace growing company with different programs. Being able to utilize my personality in order to help others. Clean environment. Decent paid time off. Parking garage. Really good team members to work with. This may sound cheesy but it is the MANTRA that I stumbled across online and have tried to live by each day. “I trust my ability to know what's right for me without having to doubt who I am when I get things wrong. I realize that there's always room for improvement and I commit to consistently trying to become a better person in all aspects of life. I'm no better than anybody. It's just clear that I'm not the same as everybody. And I work within my purpose every day to make that clearer. Greatness is my choice for my life therefore I make no excuses when I fall short, I only put forth more effort. I'm here for something bigger than me, and my only desire is to add value to everything that I can. Should I stumble, I will remember these words. I will remember who I am, and I will remember that my mission is more important than my mistakes.” This company has done a lot for me through the years and I am grateful for my job. It hasn’t been an easy road because of the amount of growth but I have no regrets. I have learned more at RSA than I have at any other company.

Cons

Understanding that this is a place of business that is ever growing, it would be nice to have a yearly meeting with the Executives

Thank you for the feedback and sharing your mantra. I believe most of our employees live by a similar mantra or belief just based on my daily interactions and the dedication I see. I would also agree that meeting with the Executive Team on a regular or yearly basis is a great idea. Will see what we can set up.
