Pros

You will be among the best and brightest in cutting-edge research in multiple fields. Wonderful coworkers, TBH.

Cons

Where to begin? It is impossible to get information out of anyone. The structure is byzantine. Employee roles are duplicated left and right and carry little meaning. Many salaried employees are silent and hard to reach while lower-paid independent contractors do much more time-intensive and stressful work. It's a shameful way to run a company in 2023 and an insult to the dignity of everyone involved. Diffusion of blame and responsibility among colleagues is extreme; having poorly defined groups within the company has led to an environment of injurious paranoia, and I'm not Unless you are already very lucky, this company "for the people" will not do anything for you besides pay you. That is the end of their obligation to you in their eyes. New hires are typically not given support, landing excellent people in a tough spot. Furthermore, it is shocking that a company with a $1,000,000,000 valuation has around five employees to handle HR matters. The company is leveraging the name of mainly free technology and its people as a marvelous opportunity for the tech world, but these people worry me. With so much turnover, you cannot be hiring the way you and operating the way you are are while blissfully pretending it is a viable path for a workplace.

Pros

The Stability engineering department comprises a healthy mix of enthusiastic open-source community developers and seasoned experts from major tech firms. As we transition from a startup, everyone shares responsibility for the company's success. Our work is fully remote, but communication is active and we have easy access to influence upper management. Support and collaboration continue to strengthen. Compensation and benefits are very competitive.

Cons

There is a history of less collaboration (1 project per engineer), but this is changing rapidly as work becomes much more team-based.
