Pros

Some brilliant people at that company really just trying to do their best.

Cons

- Abysmal upper management - many of which were put into top positions in early days of fast growth and therefore do not have the experience to fit the position - Many of those upper management do not understand your day to day, pretend to listen but ignore the required action, don’t care about over work or burn out - Huge potential for change for the better but hold no interest in trying to implement new methodology to solve problems and improve profits - preferring to fire staff and look for cheaper tools/operational costs - Exploitation of employees from cheaper salaried companies - No formalised structure for professional growth, promotions or pay rises. If you dare get too expensive you could well be let go. - Remote workers have to chose to use holiday for sick days or be unpaid - You are supposed to not be able to achieve your bonus - don’t expect to receive all the that money you are told is your package - Internally competitive culture for bonus and recognition makes it impossible to understand true priorities and creates an unnecessary feeling of permanent urgency - Poor communication across teams and almost no structure or processes throughout - Way too big a company to still think they are a slightly chaotic and agile start up studio. They’re a big company who is a complete mess and can’t save themselves after early COVID success
