Pros

Good training, ease of scheduling. Co-workers and managers and students were all great. It was enjoyable work and I was able to teach many of my kid's friends which was fun. They offer a nice discount for classes for employee's kids. Also, you can sometimes purchase cars. We did both. Since I only did in-car training I can't speak to the classroom. But on the road it's clear that the kids want to be there and learn so they behave well. Communication is key with parents and I never had any problems with them. I have to say that I liked the job a whole lot more than I thought I would! I only left due to my spouse's serious health issues and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Cons

Having to schedule out a few weeks can be inconvenient but it is understandable. My regular job at the time was work from home so I was used to little direct management. That might not be ideal for some. As others have said, it can be a challenge to get from one pickup/dropoff point to another in the time allowed.

Pros

Fantastic co-workers, switch to digital record-keeping made the job a lot easier with students coming from different locations. Rewarding work, you know that you're making a difference in the community. The hours are what they are- having to work 6 days to get 40 hours sucks but there's nothing you can do during the school year.

Cons

Compensation is on the low end compared to what other competitors are offering and the annual review doesn't yield much of a pay raise. They use a third party HR company that isn't very responsive. Any issues that come up take forever to be resolved or simply remain the way they are. Management is stretched thin and communication is not always their strong suit. I was surprised on a few occasions with a trainee that I did not know would be there. You're just another cog in the machine to management, and when it's your word against the customer's, they'll usually have your back but not always. Once you start to slip they're suddenly finding more and more issues with the way you do things.
